Top 10 Favorite At-Home Activities for a Quarantine

Raise a hand if you’re going a little crazy yet! (You can’t see me, but all hands in the air over here.)

Since early March, I have been waking up at about 1:30am, and find myself making lists for work, lists for home, and lists of things for the kids to do. This has also led to a number of interesting early morning purchases on Amazon; many that have quickly become a life-raft of kids’ play that has saved more than one conference call from an unexpected photo-bomb. Here are my top ten favorites!

IceCream Maker Ball- Let’s be honest. I ordered this for me. I’ve always wanted one, and I think it counts as a STEM project too!

BrainQuest Workbooks - I loved BrainQuest cards when I was in elementary school, and these workbooks have served as a great supplement to e-learning work for our kids.

Crayola Model Magic - A special request from Clara, this arrives next week, and I’m told dries faster than anything I’ve ever seen!

LEGO Bricks- If you haven’t seen “Lego Masters” yet, I encourage a watch and play party. This show has reinvigorated our deep love of Lego.

Razor Scooter - Our kids have loved these for a long time. I may or may not have put one in my shopping cart for me…

TinkerToys - One of the best old-school toys around.

Frisbee Game - Purchase for my son’s birthday, this awesome backyard game has been a hit! (Pun intended!)

KanJam - Another reason to get outside for some friendly, family competition.

Lite-Brite - Still fun, still magical, an awesome retro toy that our kids can’t get enough of.

Greeting Card Stamps - This project has my kids engaged in hours of personal greeting card making, so that if we never leave the house again, at least we can send birthday wishes!

I hope that you and your family are staying safe and healthy!
