Books that I Love
Twice a year - New Years Day and the first day of summer - I make a resolution to read more. Like all resolutions this is done with the best of intentions and often very weak follow-through. However as I dream about summer and a little time off, I thought I would share a list of books that I love.
Becoming by Michelle Obama
Freefall to Fly: A Breathtaking Journey Toward a Life of Meaning by Rebekah Lyons
Yes Please by Amy Poehler
The Woman I Wanted to Be by Diane von Furstenbeg
The Taliban Shuffle: Strange Days in Afghanistan and Pakistan by Kim Barker
Lean In: Women, Work, and the Will to Lead by Sheryl Sandberg
The Reason for God: Belief in an Age of Skepticism by Timothy Keller
Tina Fey: Bossypants by Tina Fey
If you’re trying to figure out my genre of choice, hopefully it’s pretty clear. Books about real people and their real lives. Here’s what’s on my upcoming reading list. Yes, it’s short. Don’t judge. I have three kids.
Pretty much anything by Brene Brown - I’m ashamed I haven’t read more
No Happy Endings by Nora McInerny
It’s Okay to Laugh: (Crying Is Cool Too) by Nora McInerny
#IMOMSOHARD by Kristin Hensley and Jen Smedley
Oh, and BTW, if you haven’t tried Audible, you’re missing out. The perfect way to sound like you’re well read, when really you just have a long commute.
Let me know what you’re reading these days!
